Paul condemned those described by the Greek word “arsenokoites” in I Timothy 1:10 and I Corinthians 6:9. The word is translated “homosexuals” in both verses by the NASV.

John R.W. Stott describes this word in his 1985 book “Homosexual Marriage”- “the Greeks used this expression to describe the one who took the active role” (in homosexual intercourse, ptd).

This word (Strong’s #733) is defined as:

Thayer – one who lies with a male as with a female, a sodomite

Arndt and Gingrich – a male homosexual, pederast, sodomite

Strong – a sodomite

Wigram-Green – male homosexual, sodomite

It is translated as:

homosexuals – New American Standard

sodomites – New King James Version

homosexuals – Simple English

homosexuals – Green’s Interlinear

sodomites – The New Testament Translated from the Latin Vulgate

partakers in homosexuality – New Berkley Version in Modern English

those who participate in homosexuality – The Amplified New Testament

homosexualist – The New Testament Kliest and Lilly

men who practice sodomy – Charles B. Williams

So I Tim 1:10 and I Cor 6:9 condemn homosexual relations. As I Cor 6:10 says, they shall not “inherit the kingdom of God.”
