The Marriage Vows

Some preachers say God allows divorce as long as we don’t get remarried, but remember our wedding vows? …

· For better or for worse

· In sickness and in health

· For richer or for poorer

· Till death do us part

The vows are an agreement to stay together (even if things get “worse”), not just an agreement not to remarry if we divorce.

Matthew 5:37 commands “let your communication be, yea, yea”

Romans 1:31 condemns “covenant-breakers”

So we must keep our vow to stay together.

Conclusion: Divorce (except for fornication) is a sin, even if one never remarries.
